Andrew "Andy" Kource Jr., 82, of Rock Island, passed away Monday February 16, 2015 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Funeral services will be 11am Friday, February 20, 2015 at Christ United Methodist Church, Davenport. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Memorials may be left to Hope Creek Care Center.
Andrew was born on October 2, 1932 in Weirton, West Virginia, the son of Andrew Kource Sr. and Sue Kochis. He married Betty Johnson on January 1, 1959 in Westover, WV. He was a United States Army Veteran.
Mr. Kource was a Chemical Engineer for 30 years, first at Ft. Detrick, Maryland and later at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1987.
Andy enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed golfing, playing cards, backgammon, bowling, chess, keno and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Betty; daughters, Susan Haack, Davenport, Elizabeth (Jim) Lay, Davenport, Karen Kource, Rock Island; grandchildren, Amber, Allyson, Christine, Andy; great grandchildren, William and Emily; brother, George (Sharon) Kource; sister in law, Peggy Kource, all of West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mike.
