Obituary

Aniece J. Scott, 81, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday December 25, 2016 at her home.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Greater Antioch Baptist Church, Rock Island, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Kidney Center of the Quad Cities or to UnityPoint Health - Trinity Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine.

Aniece was born August 12, 1935 in Homer, Louisiana, granddaughter of Jim and Sally Richardson Williams and daughter of Jimmie and Nancy Williams Carter. She was married to Eddie B. Scott. Aniece was a graduate of Grambling State University, Grambling, Louisiana.

Aniece was a business entrepreneur and homemaker, and will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In earlier years she worked at Peoples Recreation Center and volunteered at several area organizations.

She was a member of Greater Antioch Baptist Church, Rock Island, and served in many church activities. She loved to cook, and opened her heart and home to many over the years, as a friend and "community mom".

Scott, Joliet, IL, C. Denise Scott, Rock Island, Lynette "Cassie" Scott, Rock Island, Cassandra J. Scott, Rogers, AR, Christopher N. Scott, Rock Island, Earl B. Scott, Hinesville, GA, Johnnie Mack Schaffer, Rock Island, and Martha Ann Daniels, Homer, LA; grandchildren, James Bradley Vaughn, Michael Russhaud Shonta Poe, Nancy Aniece Elaine Vaughn-Dixon, Darrell Poe, Joseph Aaron Potts, Ebony Nicole Scott, Jazmine Allayne Scott, Jamal A. Shabazz, Jameelah I. Shabazz, Russ "Little" Scott, Aniece Scott, Bo Scott, Issac Scott, Joseph Scott, Johnon Scott, Javionn Scott, Trevor Scott, Brittany D. Jean, Marcus Scott, and Bobby Clark, and a host of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Aniece was preceded in death by her parents.
