Anna Mae Byers, 88, of Erie, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at her residence.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 4 - 7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Chapel Grove Cemetery, Taylor Ridge. Memorials may be made to the family.

Anna Mae was born June 30, 1926 in Taylor Ridge, the daughter of Roy and Sophia (Zeitler) Wangelin. She married Franklin Byers on October 30, 1947 in Taylor Ridge. She retired from Maytag in Galesburg working as an assembler. Anna Mae enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and canning.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Franklin Byers; children, Betty Byers, Don (Janet) Byers, John Byers, and LeRoy (Lauren) Byers; grandchildren, Angie, Steven, Michelle, Stephanie, Donny, Heather, Raymond, and Natalia; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Edna (LaVern) Benz and Verna Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Lyle, Gene, and Clifford Wangelin.
