Anne V. Rhodes, 99, of Rock Island, died Friday, July 15, 2016 at The Fort Armstrong, Rock Island.  Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Those wishing to attend should meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, by 2 p.m.  Memorials may be made in care of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Anne was born in Gary, Ind. on Sept. 23, 1916, the daughter of Mihailo and Simica Vucelich.  She married Leroy T. Rhodes on Nov. 22, 1945 in Indiana.  He preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1994.

Anne worked as a secretary for many years at the Independent Order of Foresters  Life Insurance Company.  She enjoyed reading and sewing.

She is survived by her lifelong friends, Ben and Mary Hood, Rock Island.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
