Annette Pernell, 75, of Davenport, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at her home.

Visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2024, from 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island with the funeral to immediately follow at 11:00a.m, which will be livestreamed at Rock Island Live Stream on (wheelanpressly.com). Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Annette was born on March 10, 1949, in Greenville, AL, the daughter of Tom Taylor and Eddie Bell McDowell-Taylor. She graduated from Rock Island High School. Annette married Rosevelt Sanders and later married Lawrence Pernell Sr. Annette was formerly employed at Seaford Clothing, International Harvester (IH)/ Farmall Works, and Rock Island Housing Authority. She enjoyed listening to music and watching her favorite soap operas. In the evenings, she loved doing word searches at Sunset Park. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune every evening. Annette had a passion for BINGO and loved playing with her family members.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Ruby Dee Sanders, Lawrence Pernell Jr., Lashawn Pernell, and Dashawn Pernell; grandchildren, Deaundrae Reed, Montel Reed, and Damarco Reed, Nyiesha, Jakhai, Brittany, Kiara, and Stashawn Pernell; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Andrew Thomas, AL, and Frank Thomas, PA; sisters, Ruby Miles, IA, Jaunita Steele, OH, and Bernice McDowell, AL, and a host of nieces and nephews Goddaughter Tyquandia Reed and Childhood friend Carolyn Ransom and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son (Jermaine Sanders), 4 brothers, and 7 sisters.
