Annie L. Pulliam, 78, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
Annie was born March 5, 1946, in Tupelo, MS, daughter of Eddie Bell and Louise Steele. She married James Pulliam Sr. in Rock Island in 1968. She worked at St. Anthony's Continuing Care in Rock Island, starting as a CNA and later becoming a dietary aid. Annie was a member of Greater Antioch Baptist Church, Rock Island.
Annie enjoyed shooting pool and playing cards. She liked to go dancing whenever she was able to. Annie treasured spending time with her family. She took great pride in the food she cooked and made sure her family always had a good meal for any holiday.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, James; sons, James (Shapri Davis) Pulliam Jr., Terry Pulliam, and Jerry (Jessica Taylor) Pulliam; step-children, Jiovonnie Shivers, Russel Branch-Pulliam, Andrea Martin; grandchildren, Cashmir Pulliam, Charisma Pulliam, Jayvon Millbrook, Deontrez Parker, Annastine Pulliam, Teresa Pulliam, Demari Pulliam, Demiere Pulliam, Onyx Pulliam, Nyx Pulliam, Ja'Meer Pulliam, Demetrus Pulliam, Tavian Pulliam, Devonte Pulliam, Cortez Pulliam, Janiah Pulliam, Cedric Shivers, Heaven Shivers, Dion Branch, Rashelle Branch, Neavaeh Bailey, Willie Pulliam; her best friends, Mrs. Ivey, Mrs. Nelly and Mrs. Barbara; and a host of other cherished family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 9 siblings; son, Demetrius Eddie Lewis (Pulliam); and grandchild, Ahmad-Rasheed Pulliam.
