Anniece Johnson, 72, of Rock Island, died Sunday, May 14, 2017 at her home. Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the House of Fire Ministries, 2365 11th st., Rock Island. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Saturday at House of Fire Ministries. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, assisted the family.
Anniece was born in McKinnon, Florida on July 12, 1944, a daughter of Macie Lee and Marie O'Cain Butler. She graduated from Ransom High School in Cantonment, Fla. Anniece married Warnell "Baldy" Johnson in Brewton, Alabama on April 3, 1965. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2001.
Anniece worked for Seaford Clothing, Rock Island, International Harvester and Brach's Candy Company where she retired in 1992.
Anniece loved cooking. In her earlier years, she enjoyed keeping a garden and bowling in the 70's.
Survivors include her children; Casandra (Tony Banks) Johnson, Angela Johnson, both of Rock Island, Clinton Butler, Pensacola, Fla. and Greg Bowens, Orange County, Calif.; grandchildren, Lakeshia (Antoine) Carruthers, Kaniya Johnson, Denzell Broadnax, Clinton Butler Jr. and Makkedan Butler; great-grandchildren, Kylan Hickman-Johnson and Kylia and Antoine Carruthers; siblings, Martha F. (Freeman) Pettaway, Claude Butler, both of Pensacola, Fla., Lillie M. Butler, Gardena, Calif., Mildred (Paul) Harris, Renet Butler, both of Pensacola, Fla. and Jenet (William) Moore, Walnut Hill, Fla.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandmother, Martha Butler and sister, Annettee Butler.
