Obituary

Anthony A. Taylor, 61, of Milan, passed away surrounded by his loving family, Sunday, October 15, 2017 at his home.  A funeral service for Tony will be held 9:00 a.m. Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 4th Ave. E., Milan.  Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of the Rock Island Fire Fighters Local 26 or the Rock Island Arsenal Fire Fighters Local F292.

Tony was born on December 15, 1955 in Rock Island, a son of Robert A. and Mary C. McGonigle Taylor.  He married Tina M. Raymond on February 13, 1976 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Milan.  Tony was a member of the Rock Island Fire Department for 28 years, retiring as a Battalion Chief.  He then worked 10 years for the Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department as a Fire Inspector and retired in May of 2016.  Tony was a member of International Association of Fire Fighters and the Association of Retired Fire Fighters.  He enjoyed biking, hiking, travel and casually playing golf.  Tony loved attending grandchildren's sporting events and spending time with his family.  He gave everything he had to his family and friends.  His love, patience, kindness, knowledge and time will never be forgotten.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tina; daughters, Toni Marie (Justin) Chisholm of Milan; Tera Lynn (Eduard) Hafermann, of Normal, IL and Trisha Mary (Nathan) Mariman of Davenport; grandchildren, Major, Maverick, Magnum and Mac Chisholm; Taylor, Eden Rose and Christian Hafermann; Marlee and Amelia Griffin and Carson and Brittan Mariman; brothers, Gerald (Mary), Daniel and Richard Taylor of Milan.  Also surviving are many other loving family members and friends.

We are grateful for the loving care and support of our wonderful Genesis hospice nurses and Chaplain:  Maggie, Ed, Lori and Kristin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Taylor
