Anthony S. Brown, 64, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday September 20, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 26th, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, IL, where visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday prior to services. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg, IL.
Anthony was born August 25, 1953 in Galesburg, Illinois, a son of Ida Bell Todd Brown. He married Janet H. Dorman on May 2, 2015 in Rock Island.
He retired from Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railroad with over 20 years of service. In earlier years he played semi-pro football with the Quad City Mohawks.
He enjoyed fishing, guns and was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox fan. Most of all he loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Janet, of Rock Island; children, Senait Brown, Seattle, WA, and Akeem Brown, Spokane, WA; stepchildren, Richard D. Jett, Jr., Moline, and Precious N. Jett-Ryan, and her husband Waylond, Rock Island; grandchildren, Mariah H. Jett, Alyce M. Jett-Ryan, Richard D. Jett, Jr., Jordyn N. Jett-Ryan, and Brooklyn R. Jett; "beloved grandchildren", Ireanna Hickman, LaVanti Wright and Aaliyah Wright; brothers and sisters, Mark "Slim" Brown, Timothy Brown, Brian Brown, and his wife Debra, all of Galesburg, Susan Harris, and her husband Timothy, Aurora, IL, Teri Brown, Denver, CO, and Kathy Smith, and her husband Gregory, Colorado Springs, CO; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; special great nephew, Baby Case; and special friends, John and Debbie Johnson.
Anthony was preceded in death by his mother, and special uncle, John Todd, Sr.
