Anthony Quinn Mitchell, 16, of Moline, Illinois, passed away on June 20, 2025, at UnityPoint Health Trinity in Rock Island, surrounded by the love of his family.

Visitation will be 3:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday June 29, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. A private family service will be held Monday at the funeral home.

Born on April 14, 2009, in Moline, Anthony was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him. He was funny, caring, and had a deep love for music-especially Rod Wave, whose songs filled many of his days. Anthony had a gift for making people laugh, and his presence brought warmth and joy to those around him.

Anthony had just completed his sophomore year of high school and was looking forward to his junior year. He enjoyed watching the You Should Know podcast, spending time with his girlfriend Briley Barr, and hanging out with his sisters— Anarie and Anya-whom he loved teasing, laughing with, and protecting. He cherished moments with his family and found joy in simply being with the people he loved most.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Angela Carlton; his father, Anthony Mitchell; his sisters, Anarie Carlton and Anya Mitchell; maternal grandparents, Noel and Gary Halsted; and paternal grandparents, Julie and Russel Stokes.

He will be forever missed by his many family members, friends, and everyone whose life he touched with his humor, kindness, and genuine heart.

A life gone far too soon, Anthony will always be remembered for his laughter, his music, and the deep love he gave and received.
