Anton "Tony" Kolinger, 90, of Moline, formerly of Rock Island, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline. Services for Mr. Kolinger will be 10 am, Wednesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military honors will be conducted by the Moline American Legion Post No 246. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Tony was born on November 2, 1926 in Chicago, a son of Anton Kolinger and Julia Opava Kolinger. He married LaVerne Vavricek on July 1, 1950 in Cicero, Illinois. She preceded him in death on March 3, 2015. Tony worked  for the Sunbeam Corporation for 35 years. He retired in 1981. Later he worked part time at Bike and Hike, Rock Island. Tony was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline and was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran.

Survivors include his daughters and their spouses, Cindy and Vern Bass, Wheat Ridge, Colorado and Susan and Steve Piatak, Davenport; grandchildren, Allison (Nick) Lasure, Matthew (Missy) Ward and Jennifer Piatak.
