On October 13, 2026, our beloved Antonio Trayvon Lloyd, affectionately known as "Tony," answered God's call and transitioned from his earthly home to eternal rest at the age of 32 at the University of lowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa surrounded by his loving family. Tony leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, unforgettable laughter, and a love that will forever remain in our hearts. Tony repented and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
Born on April 4, 1994, in Rock Island, Illinois, to Sandra Shynell Gay and Tony Steven Lloyd, Tony was a cherished son, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend. From an early age, it was clear that Tony was never meant to blend into the crowd. He had a spirit that could not be contained, a personality that could fill any room, and a mind filled with creativity, ambition, and ideas.
Tony was truly one of a kind.
His laughter was contagious, his presence was unforgettable, and his ability to find humor even during difficult moments was a gift. Tony had a heart filled with love and a personality made up of so many beautiful layers. He could make you laugh when you wanted to cry, brighten a room without even trying, and leave you with a story you would tell for years. Above all, Tony LOVED his family. The bond he shared with his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and loved ones was something truly special. He was more than a brother or uncle; he was a source of laughter, memories, encouragement, and love. His absence leaves a space that no one else can fill, but the love he gave will remain a part of his family forever.
His creativity and larger-than-life personality were sometimes too big for the classroom. From elementary school through high school, Tony was expelled, but he never allowed those experiences to define his future or determine his worth. Instead, he continued finding his own path, using his determination, intelligence, and natural ability to connect with people to explore opportunities in sales, finance, and distribution.
Music was more than entertainment to Tony; it was part of who he was. Blessed with a remarkable singing voice, he could turn an ordinary moment into an unforgettable memory. Whether singing, laughing, joking, or simply enjoying time with loved ones, Tony had a special way of bringing happiness into the lives of those around him.
In 2020, Tony turned one of his passions into a business when he established Mack Benji Kennel (MBK) LLC. His love for dogs and entrepreneurial spirit reflected his desire to build something of his own. Tony was a dreamer, a creator, and a man who believed in doing things his own way.
Antonio was predeceased by his older brother Tiray E. Hickman, maternal grandfather Othel Gay Sr., maternal great-grandmother Rosie Lee Allen, paternal grandmother Deborah Lloyd, paternal great grandmother Thelma Lloyd, paternal great grandfather Merle Lloyd, Aunt Debbie Gay, and Uncles William Gay and Calvin Lloyd. Their memories are treasured and their spirits continue to guide his journey.
Tony leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving parents, Sandra Shynell Gay and Tony Steven Lloyd; and his beloved siblings: Tynesha Hickman, LaShalle Hickman, Maryssa (Deshaun) Cummings, Natasha Wyatt, LaShantae Hickman, Alexia Lloyd, Takia Lloyd, Honesty Vesey, Janaya Hake, Jaylin Hake, Analys Bacerra, Jaleya Hake, Daylin Lloyd, Matthew Cardona, Jamier Lloyd, Truth Vesey, Gaven Lloyd, Teegan Eliot, and Aundre Hicks.
