Aranka Kompolsek, 88, of Moline, passed away Tuesday October 14, 2014 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
There will be no local services. Services and burial will be in Slovenia at a later date. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island is assisting the family.
Aranka was born on May 5, 1926 in Senta, Yugoslavia, the daughter of Ana and Andras Halas. She married John Kompolsek. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2010.
Mrs. Kompolsek had been employed at John Deere Harvester.
She enjoyed needlepoint, paintings, cooking, enjoyed entertaining friends, gardening and making sweaters. She was a caring, generous and kind hearted person.
Survivors include three sister in laws; a special God Daughter, Urska Kompolsek ; friends, Francis(Peggy) Brinkmeyer, Sharon Nelson and their families, Dixie Anderson and Tina Pena; and several nieces and nephews of her late husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
