Arlene R. Moore, 89, of Wheeling, Ill, formerly of Moline, died
Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in
Wheeling.
Funeral services will be 10 am Monday at the Knox Chapel of
Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 2106 7th Ave., Rock Island.
Burial is at the National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation is 9 am
until service time Monday at the funeral chapel. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Arlene R. Larson was born May 15, 1927 in Princeton, Ill., a daughter
of Elmer and Ruth Magnuson Larson. She married Richard H. Moore on
Sept. 3, 1949 in Rock Island. He died Aug. 18, 1996.
Arlene graduated from the Moline Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing
and served as a Registered Nurse for many years. She notably served in
the obstetrics departments of both Moline Public Hospital and St.
Anthony's Hospital, Rock Island. She later received an Associate
Degree in Pediatric Nursing and worked for the Visiting Nurse
Association managing their Well Baby Clinic, which served the children
of Rock Island County.
She and her late husband, Richard, where members of Heritage Wesleyan
Church, Rock Island. Arlene was a fabulous cook and loved baking and
cooking for her family.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Christine
Moore, Wheeling, Christopher and Catherine Moore, Cedarburg, Wis.,
Thomas and Mindy Moore, Peoria, Ill., Shaun and Katie Moore, Coal
Valley, Michael and Theresa Moore, Milan; 13 grandchildren; 10 great
grandchildren; and her sister, Dorothy of Princeton. She was preceded
in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Roberta and Harriet; and
brother, Richard.
