Arthur E. "Scotty" Scott, 72, of Rock Island, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2017 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Funeral services are 10 am on Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4 to 7 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf or to K-9 Kindness, Davenport. Art was born April 27, 1944 in Rock Island, a son of Robert A. and Lillian Norma Watson Scott. He married Sheila A. Nold on Sept. 16, 1967 in Milan. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1962. Art served as a police officer for the City of Rock Island for 28 years and was a sergeant when he retired in 1994. He enjoyed traveling and photography. Art's greatest joy was being with his family, whom he loved dearly. Survivors include his wife, Sheila; daughter and son-law, Tracy and Troy Freyberger, Rock Island; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Lisa Scott, Rock Island; granddaughters, Darienne and Emma Scott and MaKenna and Madysen Freyberger, all of Rock Island; and a sister-in-law, Pamela. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant children, Michael and Trica Scott; infant grandchildren, Kobe and Kale Freyberger; and brothers, Robert and Mark Scott.
