Arthur P. Farrance Sr., 83, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday December 10, 2014 at his home.
Services will be 11:00am Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30am Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be left to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
Arthur was born on October 14, 1931 in Davenport, the son of Arthur P. and Lillian (Schmidt) Farrance. He married Verna Grimm on February 26, 1956 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport.
Arthur was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Farrance had been employed by Per Mar Security for 23 years, retiring in October of 2014. Previously he had been employed as a foreman at International Harvester.
Arthur was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Island; the Korean War Veterans, Kaaba Shriner's, Davenport, the Rock Island Masonic Lodge; Masonic Scottish Rite Cathedral, Moline.
Survivors include his wife, Verna; children, Debra (Doug) Halstead, Cindy Waller, Pam (Scott) Iverson, Sherie (Carl) Ohrstrom, Arthur Farrance Jr., Connie (Craig) Brackney, Michele (Dave) Linhart; 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
