Arvilla (Billie) Gastel, 84 of Rock Island, passed away peacefully on May 28th, 2024 at her home.

Billie lived a full and large life. A working woman, a wife, mother, and devoted grandmother. If Billie loved you, you knew it. And if she didn't, you knew that too. She was fiercely loyal and extremely generous to those closest to her. There were never any strings attached to her giving.

Her best friend was Micky McGinnis. When she lost her, she lost some of her zest for life. Then she lost her son David, and her light dimmed even more. Her last years were spent on her breezeway on Big Island Road with her husband Kenny by her side. Bickering, laughing, and yes… loving. Those left to honor her memory are husband Kenny, daughter DeAnna, grandchildren Kayla, Abby, Adam, and Beans. The McGinnis family.
