Asher J. (formerly Ashley K.) Vick of Rock Island, IL born August 3, 1984, passed away at home after a long battle with mental illness on Tuesday October 24th, 2023.  Ash was a compassionate soul and felt deeply for those he loved. The family will feel the loss of his love for the rest of their lives.

Ash was an active participant in LGBTQ+ events throughout the Quad Cities community and especially supported Foster's Voice-Suicide Awareness and Clock, Inc. Asher was employed at Manatt's Ready Mix Concrete in IDOT Quality Control and was a proud employee.  Ash had a unique way of making others smile and laugh even through their darkest times.  Ash was known for goofy antics, pranks, and self-deprecating humor. Ash lived for his boys Bentley and Avery and cherished every moment spent with them.  He loved being able to play video games, attending hockey and baseball games, going to the trampoline park, and spending quality time together. Ash grew up playing hockey and fast pitch softball and grew into playing slow pitch softball as an adult with life-long close friends.

Asher cherished his pets including Nova, Jimmy, London, Stash, and Littlest. Asher also loved spending time outside by fires enjoying a nice toke to relax after long days. A special thank you to Charlie Torres and neighbors Nick, Mike & Terrie English for taking special care of Ash.

Those left to honor Ash's memory include Sons Bentley and Avery Vick, Father Timothy H. Vick, Wife Tonja Vick, Siblings Robert (Janna) Stevens, Amber (Charlie Torrez) Vick, Richard (Mallory) Vought, Timothy J. Vick, Stepfather, Bruce (Emily) Vought, and Best Friend Alissa Suman. Ash also leaves behind a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, 5 nieces & nephews, and 9 great-nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Ash was predeceased by our beloved Mother, Pamela J. Vought, Stepmother, Jane Woeckener-Vick, and Grandparents Tom & Marilyn Abel.

Timothy Vick, Asher's (Ashley) father, asks that you wear his favorite sports team's attire to the memorial in honor of him. Favorite teams include Chicago Blackhawks, Bears, and Cubs.

There will be a visitation from 4-7:00 PM on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.

Memorials donations can be made to the family for his sons Bentley and Avery Vick, Foster's Voice or Clock, Inc.
