The family requests memorial donations be made in care of the Moline Church of Christ. Born on August 12, 1929, in Russell County, Virginia, Audrey was the cherished daughter of David and Minnie Honaker Hess. On January 23, 1956, she united in marriage with Burke in Kewanee, Illinois, who preceded her in death on February 17, 2025. Together, they created a loving home filled with warmth and laughter. Audrey devoted 23 years of her life working as a machinist for Oscar Mayer, a testament to her strong work ethic and dedication. A faithful member of the Moline Church of Christ, she found great fulfillment in her spiritual community. Audrey was a passionate gardener, relishing both flower and vegetable gardening, and she found joy in creating beautiful quilts. Her love for cooking and baking was well-known, with her rhubarb dishes being a particular favorite among family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, David (Dana) Hess of Coal Valley; grandsons, Michael (Fabiola) Hess and David (Deanna Printy) Hohl; great-granddaughter, Morgan Hohl; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Burke, her son Jerry Hess, grandson Nicholas Hess, and eleven siblings who brought her much joy and companionship throughout her life. The family's gratitude extends to all those who have offered their support during this difficult time.
