Barbara F. Jensen, 89, of South Milwaukee, Wisc., formerly of Milan, Ill. ,passed away Sunday April 8, 2018 at Franciscan Villa, South Milwaukee.

A graveside memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 13th at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, those wishing to attend should meet 1:30 p.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made toQuad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Barbara was born November 5, 1928 in Benton, Illinois, a daughter of Frank and Lydia Tripp Shew. She married Robert D. Jensen on September 30, 1950 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2011.

In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at Nice TV, Milan and later Fagin Appliance, Rock Island, Ill. She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was a member of Church of Peace, Rock Island and the Farm Bureau Home Extension. She loved sewing, crafts, and spending time with friends, family and her faithful companion Missy the cat and other family pets. In earlier years she was active with the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Kurt and Debra Jensen, Milan, and Lila and Michael Paradise, Franklin, Wisc.; grandchildren, Amy, Andrea and Mallory; step grandchildren, Michelle and Angel; five great grandchildren; brother, Ralph Shew, Detroit, Mich.; and many nieces, nephews, and other family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one granddaughter, Tammy Jean; two brothers, Bill and Walter Shew; and one sister, Eula Massa.
