Barbara A. Jensen, 88, of Milan, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at her home.  Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, Milan.  Visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Although Barbara's mind was sharp to her dying day, she asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of friends and loved ones that suffered from this devastating disease.

Barbara was born in Chicago, Ill. on January 25, 1928, a daughter of Harold Lafayette and Anne Catherine Hodgson Pierce.

Barbara married Al Runge on July 27, 1947 in Rock Island.  They divorced in 1971.  She married Calvin Jensen on August 25, 1976 in Davenport.

Barbara worked at the Rock Island Arsenal as a tool room keeper for many years before retiring in 1984.

She was a member at the Milan Christian Church and Rock Island County Home Extension. She was a great swimmer and she loved the outdoors and planting flowers. She had many fond memories of her summers spent fishing and visiting with friends in Hayward, Wisconsin. She loved her family and they loved her.

She will be missed greatly by her husband, Calvin Jensen, Milan; daughters, Janet Meeks, Rock Island and Norma (Pietro "Pete") Leone, Milan; sons, Bruce (Judy) Runge, Preemption, Ill. and Dennis Runge, Milan; many grand and great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one great-great-grandson, brother, Richard Pierce and sons-in-law, Larry Meeks and Rodney Gale and daughter-in-law Kim Lopus.
