Barbara A. Wyant-Lawson, 76, of Milan, formerly of Sherrard, died Friday, May 8, 2015 at Avonlea Cottage in Milan. Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Burial will be at Andover Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of Avonlea Cottage Memory Care Unit, Milan or to the family.
Barbara was born in West Frankfort, Ill. on Sept. 13, 1938, a daughter of William Eugene and Lala Ann Fox McDaniel. She married Robert Wyant on July 25, 1956 in Moline, Ill. He preceded her in death. She married Don Lawson on Sept. 15, 1999 in San Diego, Calif. He also preceded her in death.
Barbara worked several jobs throughout the years. She was a school bus driver for the Sherrard Schools, a CNA at the former Oak Glen Nursing Home and lastly worked as a secretary at the family business, Transmissions Plus in Colona.
Barbara attended Edgewood Baptist Church and Cable Community Church and loved to share her faith with others.
Barbara enjoyed shopping and going to estate and yard sales. She really loved spending time with her grandchildren, and her two dogs, Molly and Sandy.
Survivors include her children (and spouses), Cheryl Sersland, Orion, Robert (Tracy) Wyant, Sherrard, John (Teresa) Wyant, Coal Valley, William (Shawn) Wyant, Sherrard and JoLynda (Gary) Lucas, Aledo; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary (Ann) McDaniel, Bluegrass, Iowa, Paul McDaniel, Marion, Ill. and Harold (Carol) McDaniel, Matherville, Ill.; and sister, Sandy Sweetland, Moline.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, brothers, Donald, William, Joseph and Jerry McDaniel, sister, Phyllis Williams and granddaughter, Sara Wyant.
