Beatrice "Bea" (Micklewright) Miller, 95, of Pickerington, Ohio, formerly of Moline, Illinois, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. A rosary will be said at 8:30 am, with visitation to follow from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the church. Private inurnment will be in Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Birthright of Davenport, or Sacred Heart Church in Moline. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.
Bea was born on April 28, 1928, in Kewanee, IL, a daughter of Gustaff and Marie (VanDeReverie) Rutsaert. She married Joseph Micklewright on October 3, 1959, in Rock Island, IL and he preceded her in death on November 15, 1987. Bea later married Roy "Bud" Miller on October 11, 1996, in Moline, IL and he preceded her in death on March 29, 2015.
Bea had many different careers over the years, including being a licensed real estate agent, serving on the Scott County Zoning Board of Adjustment, and serving as a secretary for Holy Family Catholic School in Davenport. She eventually retired as a Budget Analyst from the Rock Island Arsenal. She was successful and highly respected in every field.
Bea loved the Arts. She enjoyed the theater, and music of all kinds - especially the symphony. She was a globetrotter and made several trips to Europe to visit her extended family. Many of her passions were discovered later in life, for example her talent for oil painting. She enjoyed volunteering for her Church and community.
Those left to cherish Bea's memory include her children, Judith (Cary) Bryant and Joseph Micklewright; bonus children, Ann "Ricki" Stimpson, Amy (Larry) Daube, Rose Diebert, and Mark Miller; grandsons, David (Breanna) Bryant, Nicholas Bryant, and Joey Micklewright; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; twin sister, Bernice Bowden; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Bea was preceded in death by her two husbands; parents; sister, Anna Beuselinck; and brother, Robert Rutsaert.
