Bernadine C. Schaecher, 93, of Moline, died Friday, March 2, 2018, surrounded by her family, at home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 7 at St. Ambrose Church, Milan. The visitation will be held Tuesday, March 6, 2018, from 4-7 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 4 th Ave. E, Milan with a Christian wake service at 3:30. Memorials can be made to the family for a dedication in her honor for St. Ambrose Church or a charity of your choice.
Bernadine was born November 4, 1924 in Saint Bernard, NE., the daughter of Albert and Catherine (German) Boesch. She married Victor Schaecher in Lindsay, NE., on July 17, 1945. Victor died in 2010.
Bernadine was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was known for her storytelling, humor and wit. She loved her family and taught her children faith, respect, integrity, and hard work. Her passion was gardening, cooking, trying new recipes, and history. She was a mentor to many and opened her home to many relatives.
Survivors include her children; Laurel Jones, Dan (Marilyn) Schaecher, Susan (Ronald) Stritesky, Deborah Jasper, Mary (Thomas) Pearson, Vicki Jasper, Michael (Kim) Schaecher, Kevin (Beth) Schaecher, and Jon (Sue) Schaecher; 23 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. A sister Renalda Rippe, CA., and sisters-in law, Imelda Eckholt, NE., and Mary Ann Schaecher, Rock Island.
She was preceded in death by her husband and sons-in-law; Chuck Jones, Mark Jasper and Brian Jasper.
