Bernard Thomas Koloseus, 91, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday September 17, 2014 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Monday September 22, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00pm Sunday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, with a rosary recited at 4:00pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.
Bernard was born on August 7, 1923 in New Brunswick, NJ, the son of Herman and Anna (Vogel) Koloseus. He married Margaret Tollenaer on February 17, 1951 in Rock Island. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2005.
Mr. Koloseus was a WWII Army Veteran.
After graduating from Palmer Chiropractic College, Davenport, he was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal as a millwright.
Mr. Koloseus enjoyed woodworking, was a avid target shooter and lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Island.
Survivors include his daughters, Karen (Demetrio) Koloseus-Gagnon, Bettendorf, IA., Peggy (Alan) Vyncke, Peel, AR; step son, Kenneth Tollenaer, Milan; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
