Bert A. Brown, 83, of Rock Island passed away Thursday July 8, 2021 at his home.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday July 15, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, with Military Honors by Moline American Legion. Memorials may be left to Edgewood Baptist Church.

Bert was born on June 18, 1938 in Moline, the son of Bert R. and Fama (Snook) Brown. He married Ella Jones on August 11, 1962. She preceded him in death on October 29, 2017.

He had been employed at the former Frank Foundry, Moline in the machine shop. Mr. Brown was a United States Army Veteran.

Bert enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working, range shooting, mushroom hunting, traveling, photography and motorcycle rides. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island.

Survivors include his son, Bert A. Brown II (Jessica McGuire-Brown); Rock Island; siblings, Roy Brown, Aledo and William Brown, Taylor Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Adeline Meir, Phyllis Edmond and Charlotte Schaab.
