Obituary
Beth Jaeke, 74, passed away on October 4, 2024, surrounded by family. Beth was born on May 21, 1950 to John and Marian Pirmann. She graduated from the Villa de Chantal and continued her education until graduating with a master's degree in elementary education from Western Illinois University. Passionate about education, Beth proudly served as a teacher for over 40 years with the Rock Island/Milan school district. She found her "home" as a 3rd grade science teacher at Denkmann Elementary and taught there until her retirement. She was well known for her energetic spirit and colorful classroom. She kept in touch with a number of students, and it brought her joy to follow their journeys through life.
Beth married the love of her life, Ken, on May 23, 1981 in Rock Island and together they raised their daughters Lauren and Ashlie. Perhaps Beth's greatest delight in life was becoming 'Gaga', the name given to her by her first granddaughter. She loved spending time with her granddaughters, Ainsley and Audie, and teaching them about the world around them.
She is preceded in death by her husband and parents. She is survived by her daughters Lauren (Mark) Sikes and Ashlie Jaeke; Granddaughters, Ainsley and Audie Sikes; and her sisters, Christy (Steve) Lowther and Sarah Kirby.
Per her request, a private burial will be attended by her family at Calvary Mausoleum, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers and in honor of her steadfast love for Ainsley and Audie, memorials in Beth's name may be made to Jordan Catholic School (Fundraising & Support — Jordan Catholic School (jordanschool.com), 2901 24th Street, Rock Island, IL 61201 or Gigi's Playhouse (Support - Quad Cities - Down syndrome achievement center (gigisplayhouse.org), 3906 38th Avenue, Moline, IL 61265.
