Bette M. Hoots, 84, of Rock Island, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Private graveside services for Mrs. Hoots will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island is assisting the family. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

Bette was born on August 1, 1930 in Dubuque, Iowa, a daughter of William and Mae Martin Maus. She married Wesley Hoots on June 24, 1951 in Dubuque. Bette worked at the Rock Island Arsenal Post Restaurant for 18 and a half years, retiring in 1985. She enjoyed making Christmas ornaments and spending time with her grandchildren, great grandson, and her many friends.

Survivors include her husband, Wesley; a son and daughter in law, Steven and Cheryl Hoots, Rock Island; a daughter and son in law, Lynda and David Rudd, Milan; grandsons, Justin Rudd (Katy Hansen), and Grant Hoots; great grandson, Bryce Rudd; sisters, Delores Bonnet, East Dubuque, ILL., Evelyn Schweikert, Dubuque.
