Betty A. Hill, 88, of Rock Island, died Monday, August 25, 2014 at Friendship Manor Silver Cross Pavilion, Rock Island. Services will be at 12:30 pm Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of the Alzheimer's Association.

Betty was born in Rock Island on December 21, 1925, a daughter of Wallace E. and Mildred Adams Lerigo. She married Richard L. Hill on July 24, 1954 in Rock Island.

Betty received her Bachelor's degree in education from the National College of Education in Evanston, Ill. She taught in the Rock Island/Milan School District #41 where she retired after 40 years.

Betty was a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed cross-stitching and latch and rug hooking.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard Hill, Rock Island; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas R. and Linda Hill, Rock Island; and granddaughters, Jessica, Jennifer and Jaime Hill.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Lerigo.
