IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty A.
(Mcshane) Penn
September 7, 1956 – July 13, 2023
Betty McShane Penn was a loving wife, sister, aunt, cousin, and a great friend to many.
Betty was born September 7, 1956, to the proud parents of Sims and Edna McShane.
At a young age she moved to Chicago with her family, where she attended Cooley High School.
Betty grew up to be a God-fearing woman with a very sweet and humble heart. She found joy in helping others and was well known in her community for providing meals to elderly people who could not cook for themselves.
Betty's love for life and her family was evident through her smile. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, listening to music and could beat you in a good game of pool too (lol).
Betty relocated to Rock Island Illinois where she met the love of her life. On September 27, 2004, she had the pleasure of becoming one with him through marriage. She loved him dearly and would often refer to him as her soulmate.
The world will be a little duller without her bright smile and giving heart; but the love and joy she possessed will live on through her family and friends.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; Sims and Edna McShane, brothers; Sims jr. and Jerod McShane and sister; Lola McShane.
Betty is survived by Husband; Derrick Penn, 4 brothers; Tyrone, Peter, Jerome and Jeffery McShane. 1 sister; Lolitha McShane. 12 nephews; 13 nieces; 2 great-nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island.
