Betty M. Paulsen, 100, of Rock Island, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Hope Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation, East Moline.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island, with visitation to be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be left in care of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Betty was born on April 19, 1925 in Milan, IL, a daughter of Ray and Opie (Campbell) Romine. She married Keith Orville Carlson and they had four children together. After Keith's passing, she went on to marry Dean M. Paulsen on June 23, 1962 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rock Island and he preceded her in death on March 15, 1995.

Betty worked as an assembler at Servus Rubber in Rock Island for over 27 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rock Island.

Her hobbies included crocheting, reading, gardening, and traveling. Betty thoroughly enjoyed her travels and had made a trip to all 50 states. She was an avid Notre Dame football fan.

Those left to cherish Betty's memory include her children; Karen Boyle, Frederic "Fred" (Julie) Carlson, and Teresa (Steven) Nurre; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Woods; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Becky Olson.

Betty was preceded in death by both husbands; daughter, Carol Williams; sons-in-law, William "Bill" Boyle and Richard Williams; parents; and siblings, Ruth Ehlers, Rita Nevins, Nancy Betty, Raymond Romine, and Alice Rosenthal.
