Betty Jean Vruble, 80, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at home in East Moline after a lengthy illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Colona. A rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. followed by visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Centerville, Iowa at 1 p.m., Monday, February 23, 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Patrick Church, Colona or to the Alzheimer's Association.

Betty was born September 25, 1934 in Jerome, Iowa, a daughter of John and Anna Micetich Vruble.

Betty graduated from Seymour High School and was later employed by General Motors Acceptance Corporation in Bettendorf and East Moline and retired in 1985 after a successful career. She loved to travel and enjoyed bowling, cards and especially her many nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her sisters, Jackie Verschoore, Geneseo, Ill., Phyllis (Larry) Benac, Naperville, Ill., Shirley Lantz, East Moline, Ill., Barbara Gabbard, Chadwick, Ill.; and brothers, James (Barbara) Vruble, Necedah, Wis., and Robert (Sandy) Vruble Taylor Ridge, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law, Joseph Verschoore and Clyde Gabbard.
