Beulah J. Barnes, 89, of East Moline, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Beulah was born on March 30, 1927, in Alton, IL, the daughter of George and Helen (Ankney) Draper. She married Davidson Barnes on June 25, 1949 in Princeton, IL, they were married for 49 years before his passing in 1997; together they liked to travel and entertain family and friends. Beulah enjoyed playing slot machines at the casino and doing crossword puzzles. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and euchre player. Beulah loved celebrating life, spending time with her family and friends, and traveling to her Florida home. She was an active bowler and active in the Polio drives. Beulah was a member of the Moose Lodge and Eagle's Club. Beulah loved butterflies and humming birds.
Beulah is survived by her children, Gloria Harris, Moline, Barry (Mary Lou) Barnes, East Moline, and Holly Marzorati, Moline; step-son, Jerry (Barb) Barnes, FL; grandchildren, Robbie Harris, Brooke (Michael) Highline, Adam (Amy) Barnes, Hunter and Hanna Hendricksen, and Haley Marzorati; step-grandchildren, Mike, Darcey, and Tracy; great grandchildren, Heath, Jordan, Jackson, Logan, Parker, and Penelope; several step great grandchildren; sister, Helen Crawford; brother, Jim Draper; and a special sister-in-law Ruby Boultinghouse. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, George and Bob Draper; sisters, Ruth Pagnilo and Dorothy Graff; son-in-law, Patrick Harris; and step grandchildren, Connie and Dennis.
