Beverly A. Breiby, 86, of Milan, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Genesis Medical Center - Illini Campus, Silvis.

Funeral services are 11 am on Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, Milan.  Visitation is 5 to 8 pm Monday at the church.  Private inurnment will be at a later date.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan is assisting the family.  Memorials may be given to the family.

Beverly Ann Layer was born March 11, 1931 in Moline, a daughter of John H. Sr. and Marian Nice Layer.  She married Melvin "Whitey" Breiby on August 3, 1956 in Rock Island.  He died Dec. 28, 1998.

Beverly had worked as a cashier at the Geifman Food Store on 11th Street in Rock Island for 30 years.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Milan.  Beverly enjoyed visiting the Jumer's Boat, but her greatest love was for her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great granddaughter.

Survivors include her children, Julie (Fred) Rodts, Milan, David Breiby, Rock Island, Connie (Michael) Patrick, RockIsland, Michael Breiby, Milan, and Douglas (Michele) Breiby, Rock Island; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great great granddaughter.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, John, Charles, Kenneth and William Layer; and sisters, Betty Layer and Helen Lenser.
