Bill Blaylock, 79, of Milan, passed away Saturday September 23, 2023 at UPH Trinity, Rock Island.

A visitation will be held 4:00-7:00pm Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family.

Bill was born on January 2, 1944 to Leonard and Ruby (Tucker) Blaylock. He was a graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island. Bill married Rose Ruby after college.

He had been the market manager of Venture until its closing and later had been employed at Lujacks Northpark Auto Plaza, Davenport.

Mr. Blaylock loved spending time with his family, fishing and the casino. He also enjoyed gardening, yearly cruises with Rose, bonfires and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.

Bill was a natural leader, always having time to help with any problem. He was always there for his 7 sisters and cherished the time he had helping raise them.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; daughters, Tammy Gordon (Robert), Rock Island, Billie Jean Blaylock (Jeff), Rock Island; grandchildren, Jeff, Tye, Layla Rose and Victoria Lynn; sisters, Betty (Ken) Schiess, Milan, Dorothy Wells, Port Byron, Cathy Jester, California, JoAnn Palmer, Moline and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Ruby; sisters, Doris Ruby, Laverne Raine and Brenda Marcum.
