BJ (Billie Jane) Keegan, 88, of Bettendorf, passed away peacefully at her home, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

BJ was born on December 6,1934, a daughter of Darwin and Wilma (Mann) Wolfe. She is proceeded in death by her two sisters, Marilyn Embry and Elaine Horton.

BJ married Wayne B. Keegan, on October 5, 1963, in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2006. She is survived by her daughter, Maria Keegan, and was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Keegan's calling was to be a registered nurse, for over 40 years.  She was also an accomplished classical pianist. Her musical talents took her to many places, including building her own personal choir who were fiercely dedicated to her and together they made beautiful music.

Social justice was BJ's passion. She was heavily involved with World Relief Quad Cities, helping refugees settle in our community.

To say that BJ touched all of the lives she came into contact with, would be an understatement, and if you ever see a bluebird, just know that's BJ flying high. Abutu.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. In honor of BJ's memory, memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
