Billy E. McElroy, 87, of Milan, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. Services for Mr. McElroy will be 11 am, Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Billy was born on August 8, 1931 in Stronghurst, Illinois, a son of Mendon and Myrle (Barnes) McElroy. He married Jacqueline Luther on August 3, 1976 in Milan. She preceded him in death in 1999. Billy worked as a laborer for Quad City Construction before his retirement. He was a member of Laborers Union Local No. 309, Rock Island. Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge No. 190, Rock Island. Billy enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog, "Little Bit". Survivors include his children, Christine (Steve) Lake, Marceline, Missouri, Shelly Lueders, Davenport, Brenda Maxwell, Pennsylvania, Sheryl Reist, Iowa, Julie McElroy, Illinois, Debbie (Roy) McDonnell, Timothy (Jetta) McElroy, Cameron, Missouri; step children, Rory Dennison, Roger Dennison and Jeff Dennison, all of Illinois, Kimberly (Brian) Fischer, Reynolds; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
