Bobby Ray Cravens, 73, of Rock Island, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at home after a battle with cancer.  A funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, December 2, 2022 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.  Visitation will be from 10 - 11 am Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military honors will be presented.  Memorials may be made in care of the Vietnam Veterans of American, Chapter 299.

Bobby was born June 23rd, 1949, a son of Otis and Dorothy "Dollie" McRoy Cravens in Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was drafted into the Army when he turned 18 and served 2 years in Vietnam. After leaving the service he moved to Rock Island, IL.  He worked for the City of Rock Island and then worked 28 years for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers on the Mississippi River.

He married Cheryl Jeffrey of Ottumwa, IA on September 3rd, 2005 in Rock Island, IL. Bob was an avid Harley Davidson rider and has traveled many miles down the highways with his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, children, Kenyon (Tracey) Shepard of Annawan IL, Ranae Roberts of Billings MT, Nanette Shepard of Monmouth IL, Kandi (Bill) Walker of Beardstown IL, Carissa (Jon) Hanson of Viola IL, Jeremy (Kelly) Jeffrey of Fairfield IA, and James Jeffrey of Albia IA, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father Otis, mother Dollie, twin sisters Fran and Freida, and his son Cody Ray Cravens. He was loved by all and will be missed.
