Bonnie L. Swanson, 90, of Omaha, NE formerly of Rock Island, Il passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at New Perspectives in Silvis, IL under the care of hospice surrounded by her family. Bonnie will be interred next to her husband at the Omaha National Cemetery.

Bonnie was born on September 25, 1931 to Glenn and Geraldine (Long) Norton in Centerville, IA. She grew up in Ottumwa where she attended school. After high school, she went to Omaha Business College. In June of 1950, she was united in marriage to William "Ed" Swanson. For several years, the couple moved to different places for Ed's employment before settling in the Quad Cities.

Bonnie worked as an office manager for WHBF for many years until her retirement.

Bonnie enjoyed playing cards and was an avid bridge player. She also loved to travel, especially camping. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends.

Bonnie is survived by her children; Kristi Kell; Lisa (Rick Salmonson) Gotthardt; son-in-law, Doug Jones; grandchildren, Lynzee and Will Gotthardt, Nicole Kendall and Courtney Hinze and Ali Caves; and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Connie Steele.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; daughter, Terri Jones; sons-in-law, Ellis Kell and Thomas Gotthardt; and granddaughter Karli Rose Kell; and grandson, Eric Kendall.
