Boyd M. Stropes, 51, of Andalusia, passed away Friday October 9, 2026 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.

A gathering to celebrate Boyd’s life will be held at the Andalusia Fire Station from 12:30p to 3:30p on Saturday October 24, 2026. Memorials may be left to the family.

Boyd was born March 31, 1975 in Gibson City, Illinois, the son of Finis and Zofia (Ptak) Stropes. He graduated from Rantoul Township High School.

Boyd had worked at the Phillip 66 Gas Station. Previously Boyd worked at the family business, FDS Fabrication and Welding, Viola.

Boyd loved spending time with his family and his dogs Max and Chewie. He also enjoyed fishing, cooking, golfing and was a devoted Chicago Bears fan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kellie Morrissey; children, Brody (Xandra) Stropes, Kolton (Jessi) Stropes, Alyssa (Hunter) Stropes, Tristan Stropes; grandchildren, Zabella, Willow, Karter and Karlee; parents, Finis and Zofia Stropes; brother, Hank (Amy) Stropes; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
