Obituary

Bradley W. Mott, 72, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday May 1, 2014 at Unity Point-Trinity, Rock Island.Services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 - 7th Ave., Rock Island. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Health Foundation Quad Cities.

Bradley was born June 1, 1941 in LeMars, Iowa, a son of Jesse J. and Lois Adele (Woodall) Mott. He graduated from Rock Island High School, Class of 1959, and attended Eureka College, Eureka, IL. Bradley and Nancy Sue McCauley were united in marriage in December 14, 1962 in Moline, and recently celebrated 51 wonderful years together.

In earlier years, Bradley was employed at McLaughlin Body Co. He later worked for Priester Construction, Davenport, for 18 years. He then founded Budget Drain Cleaning, which he owned and operated for 15 years, until his retirement in 1999.

Bradley was a member of Memorial Christian Church, Moline Lodge No. 1014, A.F. & A.M., Quad City Photography Club, and was a regular attendee at the Class of '59 Luncheons.

He enjoyed most spending time with family and friends, traveling with Nancy within the U.S. and abroad, going on cruises, and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. A highlight was motorcycling through the Swiss Alps.

Bradley also enjoyed fishing, bicycling, bird watching, photography, attending Q.C. Bandits games, DeWitt Travelogues, and enjoyed bus trips to the Cubs games.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy, of Rock Island; daughter, Susan Elizabeth Pena-Pewe, and her husband Gaylon, Clinton, IA; grandchildren Jesse, Christopher (Ashley), Amanda (Justin), Cyrus; great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Aiyana, Tiana, Kaiya, and Kavyn; brothers, Jim Jett, Ft. Myers, FL, Greg Mott, Greenwood, IN, and Joseph J. Mott, New Albany, IN; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Bradley was preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughter, Julie Beth, brother, Douglas C. Mott, and sister, Reita J. Mott Segers.
