Brian E. Barlang, Sr. , 61, of Rock Island, IL, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022 at his home in Rock Island.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, IL, with visitation one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be at Edgington Cemetery, Edgington, IL.

Brian was born September 22, 1960 in Moline, Illinois, a son of Kenneth and Caroline Weaver Barlang. He graduated from Rockridge High School, Class of 1979. He married Carol L. "Punky" Lauer Martinez on September 22, 2002 in Prairie du Chien, WI. She preceded him in death on June 9, 2016.

Brian worked at Tyson Foods, where he had been employed for the last 16 years.

He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. Some of his favorite times were those spent with friends and family, shooting pool and birdwatching.

Brian is survived by his son, Brian Barlang, Jr., Salem, OR; sisters, Cathy Cooper (Dave Hendrix), Edgington, IL, and Cindy (Richard) Castro, Bettendorf, IA; nephews, Eric, Mitchell and Brandon; aunt and uncle, Anne and Clayton Weaver, Chicago, IL; and close friends, Charlie, Josh and Deb.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
