Brian Lee Clark, 55, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday, June 2, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Buffalo Prairie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kings Harvest Pet Rescue No Kill Shelter, Davenport.
Brian was born September 2, 1961 in Muscatine, IA, the son of Donald P. and Lynne (McGinnis) Clark. He was a graduate of Rockridge High School. He managed several restaurants before settling in Davenport where he was co-owner and manager of his proudest accomplishment, Mary's On 2nd.
He was a co-founder of the AIDS Project Quad Cities. Brian was very active in the community and volunteered every chance he could. He was a kind and generous man who enjoyed his many friends, gardening, his pets and living life to the fullest.
Brian is survived by his mother, Lynne Clark, Buffalo Prairie; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Gary Price, Reynolds; his closest friend, Bobby Stansberry; aunts, JoAnn Mier, Nancy (Orville) Rursch and Joyce (Richard) Whitehall; extended family members, hundreds of friends and his beloved pets. He was preceded in death by his niece, Heather Price; his grandparents and his father.
The family gives special thanks to Dr. Cy, Dr. Motwinia and their staffs and the Surgical ICU at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for their compassion and care.
