Brian M. Scott, 58, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday May 21, 2016 at UnityPoint- Trinity Terrace Park, Bettendorf.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24th, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 - 7th Ave., Rock Island, where  visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. Inurnment will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a favorite charity.

Brian was born May 11, 1958 in Rock Island, a son of Bob and Marlene Neth Scott. He graduated from Rock Island High School, Class of 1976. He later attended Blackhawk College.

He was a bricklayer and tuck pointer for many years  and member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union, Local 6. He also worked in the meat dept. of the Rock Island HyVee for a time.

Brian was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed fishing, boating, grilling, growing tomatoes and peppers in his garden, and wintering in Florida.

Surviving are his mother, Marlene Scott, of Rock Island; sister-in-law, Deborah Scott, Davenport; and cousin, Marcia Wetzel, Moline.

Brian was preceded in death by his father,  and his brother, Brad Scott.
