Bruce Eric Cotton, 60, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. There will be a visitation from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM with a funeral service following at 12:00 PM on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. The service will be livestreamed at https://www.wheelanpressly.com/rock-island-live-stream . Burial at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island.

Born on June 5, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, Bruce was the beloved son of Hazel Quinn and Sellers Judkins. He received his early education in Chicago before moving to the Rock Island School District. Bruce later attended Scott Community College, where he graduated from the trucking program.

Following graduation, Bruce dedicated his career to the trucking industry, working for five major companies over the years, including his most recent employer CPC Industries. He's known for his strong work ethic and professionalism, Bruce took great pride in his work.

Affectionately known as "Boss," Bruce discovered his passion for truck driving in 2017. He was admired for his impeccable style and sharp appearance — always immaculate from head to toe. Bruce was also a car enthusiast, lovingly referring to his vehicles as his "toys." Each one was maintained to perfection, both inside and out, from the gleaming paint to the polished wheels.

He loved to give money advice about budgeting and how to save and one of his favorite saying was "you have to be willing to sacrifice" and Bruce did just that.

On his days off Bruce found joy in watching movies, enjoying soul food, and spending time with his close circle of lifelong friends from the Class of '83.

Bruce leaves behind many who loved and cherished him deeply: his sister Latonya Judkins of Chicago, Illinois; his children Brandi Hampton of Indiana, Breon Allen (Angel) of Georgia, and Erica Cotton of Virginia; eight adored grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to lifelong friend Timothy D. Wright (Magic), whose friendship brought joy and comfort through the years, and to Regina Muskeyvalley, a dear family friend, for her continued love and support.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Quinn; father, Sellers Judkins; and brother, Winston Shephard.

Bruce will be remembered for his drive, his discipline, his love of family and friends, and his commitment to living life with pride and purpose.
