Obituary

Bruce Wayne Kellums, 68, of Taylor Ridge, passed away Thursday April 13, 2017 at Genesis Medical Center East, Davenport.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Wednesday April 19, 2017 at Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Taylor Ridge. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Burial will be in Edgington Cemetery. Memorials may be left to Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Bruce was born on December 25, 1948 in Moline, the son of Wayne W. and Dorothy L. (Hoyt) Kellums. He married Kristin Kelly on October 22, 1977. She preceded him in death on June 17, 2013. The family rejoices that Bruce is reunited with his bride.

Mr. Kellums graduated Stout State University, Wisconsin with a degree in engineering. Bruce was a United States Navy Veteran.During his service time in the military he was a member of the Pensacola Navy choir.

He began his career with JI Case, Rock Island and later worked at Red Jacket Pump, Davenport. He later retired from the Rock Island Arsenal.

Bruce was a avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, a instructor for the hunter safety classes, competitive shooting, Frank's Pizza and gardening. He was a member of the Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church, National Rifle Assoc. and the Milan Rifle Club.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Dorothy Kellums-Batten; sisters, Holly Curtis, SC, Nancy (Daniel) Hanson, Moline; nieces and nephews, Ryan (Marti) Lau, Heather Hanell, Beth (Alex) Baumgarten, Kelly (Robin) Hartman, Melissa (Jim) Hutchinson, Amber (Brent) Staner, Derek (Kristi) Workman, Christy (Chad) Klingaman, Carla (Vincent) Do, Sam (Katie) Kelly, Tim Kelly, nephew in law, Craig Church and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne; brother in law, Ralph Curtis; niece, Alisha (Verbeke) Church and father in law, Robert Kelly.
