Burgess D. Walker, 63, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday May 17, 2018 at UnityPoint-Trinity, Rock Island.

In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, assisted the family with arrangements.

Burgess was born July 31, 1954 in East Moline, Illinois, a son of Dale D. and Joan Burgess Walker. He graduated from Davenport Central High School, Davenport, Iowa. He married Rita J. Schlitter Patterson on August 26, 2001 in Pleasant Valley, Iowa.

Burgess was a sales representative for Harker's and Lance companies, and later for Solar Ray Corp. He enjoyed working with electronics, old cars and motorcycles.

Surviving are his wife, Rita, of Rock Island; daughter, Kelly Jo Barnes, of Kentucky; stepson, Cory A. Patterson, Coal Valley, Ill.; sister, Elizabeth Walker, of Arkansas; brother, Timothy Walker, of Colorado; two nieces and one nephew.

Burgess was preceded in death by his parents.
