Burke M. Hess, 95, of Milan, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at his home. Services for Mr. Hess will be 11 am, Friday at the Moline Church of Christ, 4800 - 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Milan American Legion Post No. 569. Memorials may be made to the Moline Church of Christ. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan is assisting the family.

Burke was born on August 28, 1929, in Honaker, Virginia, a son of Evans and Florence (Miller) Hess. He married his wife, Audrey, on January 23, 1956, in Kewanee. Mr. Hess worked for Oscar Meyer in Davenport for over 20 years before his retirement. He was a member of Moline Church of Christ. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, bowling, bean bags, and cards. Burke was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include wife, Audrey; son, David (Dana) Hess, Coal Valley; grandchildren, David Hohl (Deanna), West Branch, Iowa, and Michael (Fabiola) Hess, Rock Island; great granddaughter, Morgan Hohl; siblings, Sue Honaker, Chester Hess, and Thurman Hess, all of Virginia.

Burke was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerry Hess; grandson, Nicholas Hess; two sisters; and three brothers.
