Obituary

Calvin K. Jensen, 92, of Milan, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2016 at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island.

According to his wishes there will be no visitation.  Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock island.  Calvin was born on September 11, 1923 in Benton County, IA to Cal and Sara (Meskmen) Jensen.

In WWII he flew 32 missions in bombadier bomb group 467 in a B-24.  He was awarded the distinguished flying cross air-medal with 3 oak clusters, a certificate of valor.  He retired from the National Gurad helicoptor unit in Mount Joy.  On the Rock Island Arsenal he had several different jobs.  He repaired electric loaders, was a train engineer, and a crane operator.  He enjoyed golf, walking the Milan dike with his dog and bird watching.

Calvin is survived by his son, Cal Jensen; 6 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Jensen; and care-provider, Amber Matter.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jensen; parents; daughters, Billie Hayward and Robyn Jensen; sister, Lillian Fergusen; and brother Robert Jensen.
