Cammie M. Jett, 85, of Rock Island, passed away on February 19, 2025, surrounded by friends and family. She was born October 1, 1939 in Collierville, TN, to Willie Mae Cursey and Andrew Jett. Cremation rites have been accorded. Per Cammie's wishes, the family will not have a visitation or service. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Freddiestean Orr; sons, Ronald and Reginald Jett; daughters, Rita Jett and Retina (Derrick) Rummels; grandchildren; and a special friend, Jim Harrington. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard Jett; brothers, Stanford Cursey, Julious Cursey, Walter Harris Jr and Andrew Jett; sisters, Mozell Finley, Beatrice Payne and Nettie Washington.

Cammie dedicated many years of service to the Rock Island-Milan School District as a secretary. In 1978, Cammie began working at John Deere Harvester as a metallurgist. She retired with 23 years of service on December 21, 2001. Cammie was an avid bowler for 50 years and proud to have been a member of the Wildcat Bowling League. She was also an active participant in the Active Club at the Martin Luther King Center.

Cammie was a  mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who loved making her family laugh with her sense of humor and storytelling. She also enjoyed cooking for others, completing puzzles, watching sports, playing bingo, and trying her luck at the casino. She was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her.
